Minor footballers face Cork

May 11, 2012
Tipperary continue their quest for back-to-back Munster and All-Ireland MFC titles when they travel to Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Wednesday night to face Cork for a place in the provincial final.

After taking care of Kerry in impressive fashion in the first round, it's clear that Tipp are a formidable force once again this year, but they cannot afford to take anything for granted against a Cork side that made light work of Limerick in their opening assignment. This will be the third time in four years that the counties have met at the semi-final stage, with Tipp having won in 2009 after extra-time and the Rebels prevailing in 2010.

When they met in last year's final, the Premier County triumphed 3-11 to 1-9 before going on to lift the Tom Markham Cup. With a large carryover of players from last year, David Power's charges will be quietly confident of progressing to the Munster final where they could renew their rivalry with Kerry, who are fancied to beat Clare in the other semi-final.
