Evans looking forward to Cork test

Tipperary football manager John Evans
Tipperary manager John Evans believes playing the likes of Cork this time of year is ideal preparation for the NFL.

The sides meet in the McGrath Cup final at the weekend and Tipp have looked very impressive in their three outings over the same number of weeks.

However, on Sunday, they will face their toughest clash to date, but Evans is looking forwards to pitting his charges against the Rebels.

"It's a wonderful experience to get a game against a team such as Cork," Evans told the Tipperary Star. "It's good preparation so early in the year because there's no substitute for games.

"We never know how good Tipp are because they never get a run in the senior championship so we are very happy that we are making progress."
