Coghlan blow for Tipp
September 08, 2010
Tipperary defender John Coghlan is set to miss out on this Saturday's All-Ireland U21HC final against Galway through suspension.
Coghlan recently had a yellow card which he received in Tipp's semi-final victory over Antrim last month upgraded to a red by disciplinary chiefs of the GAA and now looks likely to miss out on the Thurles decider unless he is successful in his appeal this week.
The Moyne-Templetuohy full-back received the initial caution after a challenge on Antrim's Thomas McCann, but it has since emerged that Offaly referee Tony Carroll felt the tackle warranted a sending-off, and subsequent suspension, after viewing the incident again.
