A unique dealership in Tipp

September 01, 2010
Tipp is gripped once more by All-Ireland fever. As the Main Opel dealer for the county, Kevin O'Leary Clonmel provides the people of the Premier County with a top-class service. The dealership is also a big supporter of local GAA, as we found out when we popped into the state-of-the-art Cahir Road premises to meet Assistant Manager Willie Butler - himself a member of the Loughmore-Castleiney club.

Operating under the Opel banner, the recently re-developed Cahir Road outlet is a keen supporter of the GAA through the "Kits for Clubs" programme which rewards local GAA Clubs for car purchases and vehicle servicing by club members. The manufacturer's sponsorship of the GPA awards scheme is yet another example.

Kevin O'Leary Clonmel threw open its doors for business in January 1996. Now in its 15th year as main Opel dealer for Tipperary, it supplies the full range of Opel passenger cars and commercial vehicles as well as offering a comprehensive Opel-approved service facility. A large selection of pre-owned vehicles is also available at the ideally-located site, on Clonmel's Cahir Road.

Assistant manager Willie Butler notes: "We're very conveniently located, within easy access of the motorway. We're in a central location, just off the main Dublin-Cork Road, less than an hour from Cork city. While our main catchment area is South Tipperary, we sell to and service vehicles for customers throughout the neighbouring counties".

Kevin O'Leary Opel has invested heavily in staff training, IT and its premises, with the aim of providing a comprehensive, quality motoring service to both individual and corporate customers and building on the Kevin O'Leary Group reputation as a trusted motor retailer. Excellence in Customer Service is the number one priority.

A professional sales team can guide customers through the model range and help identify the perfect vehicle to suit each individual requirement, if necessary arranging flexible finance tailored to suit every budget. For corporate customers, Hi-Line Leasing, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Kevin O'Leary Group, offers a contract lease facility.

Kevin O'Leary Opel also offers full vehicle parts and service facilities in a modern, state-of-the-art workshop equipped with the necessary diagnostic technology required to maintain today's complex vehicles. Extensive Aftersales facilities include full bodyshop and valeting services.

With the facilities at Kevin O'Leary Clonmel completely upgraded since 2008, the assistant manager adds: "We would like to take this opportunity to thank our loyal customers and to invite them to visit our new showroom and revamped workshop. We redeveloped the premises two years ago, literally knocking it down and rebuilding from the ground up".

Kevin O'Leary Clonmel is a unique motor dealership in many respects. Firstly, it is part of the Kevin O'Leary Group and the only branch located outside Cork. Willie explains that "this allows us to buy large volumes of vehicles and achieving savings through bulk-buying, and we can then pass these savings on to our customers. At the moment, we have a selection of pre-registered Opels with huge savings to be made".

"We have a fantastic selection of used cars - the biggest choice in the Clonmel area. Quality used cars are in short supply at the moment but we have a great selection of vehicles, including all makes and models. Times are tough for everybody but we are more than holding our own. We see ourselves as a fighter through hard times - a bit like the Tipperary hurling team!"

"Our menu pricing is fully-transparent allowing customers to be quoted for all work in advance. Kevin O'Leary prides itself on providing a quality, affordable Aftersales service. We offer genuine parts, state-of-the-art technology and the very best technicians. And the value for money here is second to none. Where else will you get a service for 99 euro?"

"All our technicians are trained to the highest standards and are recognised by Opel Ireland. The Kevin O'Leary Group has been around since 1963 and has a proven track record in the motor industry in Ireland."

Furthermore, Kevin O'Leary Clonmel is offering its existing and prospective customers a range of special offers and unique services that leave them out on their own as one of the leading dealerships in the Premier County. The complimentary Health Check is most innovative of all as it provides customers with the ideal opportunity of seeing what work needs to be done on their vehicles - without any charge. This service is completely free and there is no catch whatsoever.

"We're running the complimentary Health Checks at the moment and they're proving extremely popular," Willie continues. "All the customer has to do is bring their car in and our technicians will do a complete safety check on the vehicle and give a full report on how it is performing and a quotation for any work that needs to be done. The real beauty of this initiative is that there are no strings attached. Once the Health Check has been completed and the report typed up, there are no obligations. The decision is entirely down to the customer regarding if and when they want to carry out any work that is recommended."

"We do winter and summer checks and we also carry out services on all makes and models of vehicle from EUR99, which are going very well. Our general manager Peter O'Donoghue has been in the motor industry for 40 years and customers can rest assured that they are receiving the best-possible service from experienced and knowledgeable staff."

"We'd like to invite people into our showrooms on the Cahir Road to take a look at our products, to see our workshop, book in for a service or avail of the complimentary Health Check. We'll prepare the paperwork and the customer will be under no obligations. They'll leave safe in the knowledge that their vehicle has been assessed by a competent team devoted to looking after the safety of you and your passengers. Anyone who's interested can visit our website - www.kevinoleary.ie - or just give us a call on 052 6127888."

Willie Butler is an avid member of the Loughmore-Castleiney club (home of Noel McGrath, one of the heroes of Tipp's superb All-Ireland semi-final defeat of Waterford), having played with them at various levels down through the years. He's involved as a juvenile mentor at present and - through Kevin O'Leary Clonmel - was able to furnish the club with new gear and kits through Opel's Kits For Clubs programme this year.

Opel's GAA connections make it very much part of the local community and Kevin O'Leary Clonmel wouldn't have it any other way. As the Premier County prepares to lock horns with Kilkenny in this year's All-Ireland SHC final, everyone at Kevin O'Leary Clonmel sends their best wishes to Liam Sheedy and his team.
