U21: Moycarkey-Borris score big win over Sars

February 26, 2010
Moycarkey-Borris 4-11
Thurles Sarsfields 2-8

Moycarkey-Borris produced a stunning second-half display to blow away Thurles Sarsfields in the Mid Tip Under 21 'A' Football Championship last Sunday at Littleton.

A 13th minute goal from full-forward Stephen Kirwan had the hosts well on their way, as point from the excellent Rory Ryan and Kieran Morris followed, before Thurles netted a life-line just before half-time when Michael Cahill added to his early points with a goal to leave the scores as 1-7 to 1-3 at the break.

In the second-half, the winners kicked over two early point after the restart and Paudie Fitzpatrick all but killed off the game seven minutes in when he bundled the ball over the line.

Thurles pulled a goal back through Liam Cullen, but further majors from Stephen Kirwan and Jamie Barry made sure the result was only going one way for Moycarkey-Borris.
