Loughmore edge past Brackens
July 03, 2009
Loughmore Castleiney 0-22
JK Brackens 1-16
Loughmore Castleiney produced a sterling second-half performance against JK Brackens last Saturday evening at Ragg to advance to the semi-finals of this year's Mid Tipperary senior hurling championship.
It was Brackens who had the better of the first-half here though thanks to Kevin Mulryan's goal after 13 minutes, which saw them into a 1-9 to 0-9 lead at the half-time interval.
After the restart though Loughmore Castleiney looked a transformed side with Aidan McGrath and Ciaran McGrath pointing them into the lead for the third quarter.
Michael Lynagh pulled a score back for Brackens as they looked to regain the advantage, but Aidan McGrath registered the last of his 0-8 tally for the evening, which was backed up Noel McGrath, and there was no coming back from Brackens from there.
