Evans rues away draw

Tipperary football manager John Evans
John Evans has described Tipperary's All-Ireland first round football qualifier trip to Louth as "daunting". Tipp beat Eamonn McEneaney's side in the spring to clinch promotion to Division 2 of the NFL, but that was in the more familiar surroundings of Semple Stadium. "The words daunting and challenge come into my head straight away. Home advantage is absolutely huge in the qualifiers," the Killorglin man said. "Believe it or not, I was not fearful of the draw or who we would be paired against, but what I was hopeful of was gaining home advantage. "No matter what team you get, be they from Division 1, 2, 3 or 4, you'd feel a lot more confident playing them at home." He added: "I am very apprehensive about going there. I'm wondering if we have recovered from the defeat (to Limerick). Even though we had a wonderful season, that loss hit us hard."
