Minor hurlers ready for Cork test

June 19, 2009
Tipperary face Cork in their Munster MHC semi-final at Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Wednesday June 24 (7.30). The Rebels (and defending provincial champions) have home advantage, while Tipp have the benefit of a game under their belts already (a 13-point defeat of Limerick). Manager Mark O'Leary has nine of last year's panel at his disposal and the Kilruane MacDonaghs clubman is under no illusions as to the task that awaits his young team: "It's [Cork's] first championship outing but we know they have a strong panel. Cork are always strong in this grade and it's bound to be a typical Tipp-Cork clash, with probably very little in it." These two counties met in last year's provincial final, which Cork shaded by a point.
