#LidlLegends initiative celebrates voluntary work of LGFA members throughout Covid-19 pandemic

LGFA and Lidl Ireland announce details of #LidlLegends, an initiative to celebrate the voluntary work of LGFA members throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
THE Ladies Gaelic Football Association and its official retail partner, Lidl Ireland, are delighted to announce details of #LidlLegends – an initiative to celebrate the voluntary work of LGFA members throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
During these unprecedented times, many of our members are going above and beyond the call of duty to help out in their local communities – and we want you to tell us those stories.
We’re asking you to nominate your local #LidlLegends – and to highlight the brilliant work that they are doing – by using the hashtag #LidlLegends and tagging the Lidl Ireland and LGFA social media accounts. You can also enter the competition by commenting on the Facebook post pinned to the top of LGFA Facebook page.
Winners, chosen by Lidl and LGFA, will be selected from each of the four provinces and will win a set of Lidl sponsored jerseys and training equipment, a training session with a Lidl ambassador (when current restrictions allow) for their club team, along with a €100 Lidl voucher for themselves.
Lidl Ireland are also announcing that priority queuing has been extended to LGFA members who are shopping for a self-isolating or cocooning member of the local community, effective from today, Wednesday May 20.
To avail of priority queuing, LGFA volunteers will have to identify themselves to Lidl security/staff upon arrival at the store and show a copy of a specially drafted letter that is available from their local club. This provision is available in ROI stores only.
Lidl Community Gift Cards are also available to purchase via a dedicated hotline to provide a payment solution for people who are self-isolating/cocooning and those engaging in community shopping for them. The gift card can be used multiple times until full value is redeemed, and full details are available at the following link: https://www.lidl.ie/service-help/gift-cards
In addition, the #LidlLegends competition will also be running in Northern Ireland through the Lidl Community Works programme and is open to all sports clubs in Northern Ireland – see Lidl NI social media channels for more details.
The entry period for #LidlLegends nominations will be open until the end of June.
