Kilkenny forward Ger Aylward has failed to overcome a hamstring injury he picked up in the latter stages of last weekend's win over Wexford ahead of Sunday's league final.
The Glenmore star, who recently made his return to inter-county action after an eight-month absence, is replaced by his clubmate Alan Murphy at corner-forward for the Nowlan Park showdown with neighbours Tipperary.
Otherwise, the Cats have named an unchanged starting 15 from the 1-27 to 2-15 semi-final success at Wexford Park.
Kilkenny are aiming to defend their proud record of winning league finals under Brian Cody - the James Stephens clubman has led his native county to eight victories in the competition including a three-in-row from 2012-14.
