Tipperary manager Michael Ryan knows the importance of every point in this year's NHL 1A campaign.

With every team aside from Clare having dropped points, the race for a quarterfinal place and avoiding relegation are very much a two-pronged attack.

Tipp have won their last two games, but Ryan admitted to the Tipperary Star from here on in, it is essential to keep winning or at least be picking up a point.

"Every point is valuable when you want to be in that quarterfinal place. The knockout stages is still the aim - there are still four points to be played for and as far as our boys are concerned we immediately have to turn our attention to thinking about Sunday," said Ryan.

"This is a great league and it always has been a great league. In Division 1A this is dog eat dog. It's hectic. We are being as sensible as we possibly can. Thankfully, we are still standing up straight."
