Intermediate Team News
St. Pats played Coolera Intermediate in a relegation play-off to ascertain their position in the Intermediate Championship for 2009. They defeated them by 2-8 to 0-9 in Kent Park last Saturday evening. Pats scored four points to Coolera's two, our scores coming from Augustine Clarke.
The lads continued their dominance with a goal from Keith Farry after a good pass from Mark Boland and determined work from Conor Brady resulted in a good score from Paul Finnerty. To start the second half, Conor Brady and Coolera exchanged a point each before Ricki McMunn, on his eagerly awaited comeback, finished a lovely goal into the bottom left-hand corner. Coolera pulled one back before Mark Boland scored a well-taken free.
Donal Finneran and the opposition scored two points each, Finneran's scores resulting from his own hard work. Just before the finish Martin Devaney had to pull off a fine save to prevent Coolera from narrowing the deficit, thus leaving the final score at 2-9 to 0-8.
