Sligo turn down offer

August 13, 2007
The Sligo GAA County Board have turned down an invitation to receive a presentation from Sligo Rovers FC for their success in winning this year's Connacht SFC title. Rovers had offered to acknowledge the Yeats County's success with a presentation before their match with Bray on Saturday last but the Sligo County Board declined the offer. It is believed the County Board felt the move was too soon after the heavy defeat to Cork in the All-Ireland SFC quarter-final. "The opportunity wasn't availed of this time, but the door is still open," said Rovers' chairman Michael Toolan.
