Sligo have that extra edge

Sligo 1-6 Leitrim 0-8 Sligo came from behind to snatch victory over Leitrim in a tense Connacht MFC clash that needed extra time to separate the sides at Ballinamore on Saturday May 19th. The match started very slowly and there were only seven scores during the first half as Sligo led by 0-4 to 0-3, but the second half livened up proceedings. Leitrim were on top for long periods, but could not pull away from their opponents and the match was forced into extra time as neither side could get ahead. Sligo looked to be dead and buried as they trailed by three points with extra time almost up but a goal by Connor Mullen and a point by Brian Harris ensured Sligo made it through to the semi final.
