Sligo manager Niall Carew believes the Yeats County are moving in the right direction.

Carew has blooded a number of young players in the first two Division Three outings and he is confident that the elusive first victory of the campaign should materialise soon, perhaps against Clare in the next round:

"We have seven players now who have made their first start in the national league over the two matches and that is good to see," he told The Sligo Champion.

"It's going okay. We're not getting the results but we know that they will come. Training is going well and the lads are fully committed and working hard.

"We really have to now work hard and hopefully get a win there [Clare]. Training is going well, we'll be aiming for a win. It's a massive game for us. There's no need to panic just yet, the wins will start to come.

"We are adamant that a win will come. We have four league games in a row coming up and that will be huge for us. Once we get a win, things will be looking up."
