Preview: All-Ireland SFC qualifier: Sligo v Limerick

July 12, 2014

The scenic Markievicz Park will provide the setting for Sligo and Limerick in the qualifiers. INPHO
Limerick have finished up on the losing side in two games against Sligo so far this year - in Division 3 and a challenge in recent weeks.

On that basis, the Yeats County are favourites to advance to the next round of the qualifiers but John Brudair's side have built up a head of steam and won't be easily dislodged from the All-Ireland series.

Wins over London and Antrim have instilled belief in the Shannonsiders and a trip to Markievicz Park doesn't faze them despite having lost 0-13 to 0-15 there back in February.

"In the league it was a game we should have won and although they beat us by a couple of points we know we can beat them," manager Brudair claimed this week.

Sligo also have a pep in their step following their victory over Wicklow last time out and manager Pat Flanagan said: "If we play as I know we can I think we can get through."

A difficult one to call, home advantage could swing the tie in Sligo's favour.

Verdict - Sligo.
