Hall of Fame inductee - Mick O'Dwyer. INPHO
Kerry gaelic football legend Mick O'Dwyer has been inducted into the GAA museum's Hall of Fame.

O'Dwyer joins Noel Skehan (Kilkenny), Pat McGrath (Waterford) and Mickey Kearins (Sligo) amongst the second group of inductees since the scheme was set up last year.

The Waterville maestro's illustrious GAA career spans 60 years as a player and manager while Skehan's medal collection includes a remarkable nine All-Ireland, three NHL, eight Leinster SHC, four Railway Cup and seven All Stars.

Kearins holds the distinction of being Sligo's first footballer to be honoured with an All Star in 1971 and was a regular in the Yeats County jersey for 18 years.

McGrath, meanwhile, lined out for Waterford's hurlers from 1970 until 1986 and his sons Ken and Eoin continued to the proud family tradition in later years.

"It is a great honour to welcome these four outstanding GAA ambassadors into our Museum Hall of Fame and it is difficult to think of more fitting men for the award," GAA President Liam O'Neill remarked.

"These four individuals illuminated their respective codes, setting consistently sky high standards that thrilled crowds and highlighted the great attributes of our games.

"I congratulate Mick, Noel, Micheál and Pat and of course their families and I hope this acknowledgement helps shine a light on their efforts over many years to generations who were not lucky enough to witness first-hand the skills they brought to bear on the game."
