Sligo captain Ross Donovan was glad to see off the challenge of New York.
The Yeats County were convincing winners at Gaelic Park last weekend and Eastern Harps clubman Donovan reflected in The Sligo People:
"We're delighted with the result. The scoreline would suggest it was one-way traffic but you never know what to expect with New York and, to give them credit, they started very well for the first five or ten minutes.
"But we just settled into it. We were patient in front of goals and kept clocking in the scores and the goals came later on then to add a bit to it.
"It is a championship game and we needed to see what we could do over 70 minutes, so there was never any question of us easing off. You'd learn nothing from playing for 40 minutes and then sitting back."
