Walsh: mood is positive

Galway manager Kevin Walsh
Kevin Walsh says the mood in the Sligo camp is "very positive".

The Yeats County have to negotiate a potential banana skin in New York on Sunday in their Connacht championship opener but manager Walsh is confident without being complacent:

"The mood in the squad is very positive," he comments in The Sligo Champion. "We accept that we have to proceed with caution because this is very much a step into the unknown, but we're confident of getting the right result.

"It's a matter of getting our own game right, keeping our heads down and getting the job done.

"There will be a lot of talk about New York and the potential for a shock result but we won't be sidetracked by that.

"It's a different sort of challenge for us and we'll have to adapt to all the circumstances associated with the fixture.

"We're not complacent in any way, but we're going there with a very positive attitude."
