/>Relay Run to Croke Park for All Ireland Final 2010
Plans are continuing for the run from Kent Park to Croke Park starting on the evening of the 17th of September. We have been delighted with the response from prospective runners and can't accommodate any more. We would urge all club members to make a special effort in relation to the collection of sponsorship. The club would also like to thank the various newspaper and radio stations for the recent publicity. This event has really captured the imagination, not only in the northwest, but nationally. We hope that as many members of the community will run the first kilometer with us on the 17th so please put that date in your diary. We will include further information here as the build-up continues to the big day. Club supporters can now contribute to the cause online at the Club's official website or on the Club's official Facebook page using the "PayPal" facility. Anyone seeking further information contact David Keane on 086 8367005 or Niall Murray on 087 2860239.
Saturday Morning Coaching: Saturday Morning Coaching continues every Saturday morning from 10.30am until 12pm, all are welcome, so if your child is age 5 to 12 years and would like to enjoy Gaelic games in a fun environment bring them along. This invitation goes out to any parents, past players, Uncles, Aunts, brothers or sisters who want to get into coaching or just help out, please come along. You can join up on the day. Remember to get your membership fee paid asap as the jerseys sponsored by John Kent Sports are ordered and will be here in a couple of weeks.
Ladies: Hard luck to the Ladies Junior Team who lost to Eoghan Rua in their second game of the Championship campaign on Sunday last. Next up is Calry/St. Joseph's on Sunday.
Minor: We had a fine win over Ballymote/Buninadden on a score of 2-13 to 2-6 to qualify for the Quarter Final of Minor A Championship which will probably take place on 4th September. We depended a lot on our younger players to show leadership with Paddy Brady, Enda Gavin, Colm Egan, Niall McManus, Conor Niland and Cian Breheny excelling. Scorers were C. Egan 1-3, C. Niland 1-0, S. Cole 0-4, C. Breheny 0-3, N. McManus, P. Devins, B. Smith and A. McGoldrick 0-1 each. We thank our opponents for facilitating our request to bring the match forward to avoid a clash with the impending County U-16 Final. Training continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm. Well done to those who received their Leaving Cert results last week and we wish them well in their future careers. We wish our U-16 team the best in the County Final on Sunday next.
U-16: We wish the U-16 Squad and management the very best as they take on Tourlestrane in the County Final this Sunday evening in Markievicz Park with a throw-in time of 7.00pm. We ask all Club Members to turn out to support the team.
U-11: Full training for our Under 11 squad recommenced on Monday evening, 23rd August at 6.00pm to 7.00pm and will continue each Monday and Wednesday until further notice. Two of our under age coaches Adrian Muldowney and Micheal Munnelly will be participating in the St Mary's Sponsored Run from Kent Park to Croke Park on 17th September. Sponsorship cards were handed out to many of the squad members and we would urge all parents, families and friends to support the cause. Please return the sponsorship cards and any monies collected to Adrian Muldowney (087-6181215) as soon as possible in advance of the 17th.
Senior/Junior: The Senior side take on Tubbercurry this Saturday evening in Ballymote in the second round of the Senior Championship (Throw-in 6.30pm). We ask all Club Members to turn out to support the team in what is a crucial match. Training continues for the Senior Squad this week. The Junior side were comprehensively beaten by pre-Championship favourites, St. Pat's, at Markievicz Park on Sunday afternoon last in the Junior A Championship. The side must now prepare to face St. Molaise Gaels in the final group match which is crucial in avoiding a potential relegation battle. Training continues for the Junior team this week.
