Under-16s compete in tournament

August 13, 2010
The future of Sligo hurling looks bright as the county under-16s joined with Leitrim to compete in the Niall McInerney Memorial Shield last weekend.

The management team of Sligo's John Mullins and Brian McCann along with Leitrim duo Donie Quinn and Steve Feeney looked after the youngsters on the day.

Both Sligo and Leitrim will compete in the All-Ireland under-16 C championship later this month as their separate counties, but for this tournament they joined.

The Sligo/Leitrim combination performed admirably in the competition at the Liam Mellows club and this will stand them in good stead for further competitions.
