The Sligo senior football championship gets underway this weekend with a number of exciting games in store.

Following the county seniors' exploits being halted so dramatically by Down in the All-Ireland qualifiers, football fans need a pick me up and what better way to get one than a return to club action.

The biggest draw of the weekend should be the meeting of Tubbercurry and Tourlestrane at Markievicz on Sunday evening, which will be preceded by the clash between Geevagh and Ballymote.
