Summerhill College into provincial decider

March 05, 2010
Summerhill College booked their place into this year's Connacht Colleges Senior A final for the first time since 1985 when they overcame St Muredach's College, Ballina by 3-17 to 0-11 after extra-time last Sunday.

The sides were level on 2-3 to 0-9 after 60 minutes, which forced the game into extra-time where both teams went hell for leather in search of the win.

The Mayo students kicked two more points to get their noses in front, before Summerhill substitute Niall McManus bagged his second goal in the dying stages to send his team into the decider.

Summerhill College will now play St Gerard;s Castlebar in the Connacht final on March 13, with the venue and throw-in time yet to be confirmed.
