Sligo selectors reappointed

Sligo manager Kevin Walsh with selector Dessie Sloyane

Sligo football manager Kevin Walsh has kept faith with the same backroom team for 2010.

The former Galway midfielder has confirmed that Paul Taylor (Eastern Harps), Paul Durcan (Curry) and Dessie Sloyan (Easkey) will be his selectors once again next season.

"It worked well last year so we'll keep it as it was," he said in the Irish Daily Star.

Walsh, whose side came within a whisker of dumping eventual All-Ireland winners Kerry out of this year's championship, revealed that his biggest fear ahead of the new campaign is that the recession will force some of his players to emigrate.

"There is a chance some might have to go abroad. It will be tough if fellas have to go, but it is understandable too.

"We hope that they can be sorted as we will need to sort out a squad towards the end of the year.

"We had three trial games in October to take a look at the fellas that impressed in the club championship and a few of them showed up well."
