Sligo have the unwanted distinction of being the only team across the four divisions of the Allianz Football League to have no points after four rounds.

Relegation to Division 4 looms large for the Yeats County after they suffered a 0-16 to 5-16 drubbing from Louth in Drogheda yesterday. However, new manager Paul Taylor remains hopeful that their fortunes will change as they prepare to welcome promotion-chasing Westmeath to Collooney next Sunday.

"We win together and we lose together," the former star full forward told the Western People.

"Those lads are putting in a lot of work. As I say, they're young. They have futures ahead of them. There's a future for Sligo football, but it's a difficult time.

"It's difficult to be beaten in games like that. Everything was good and the mood was good coming into the game, and you go from a situation like that to feeling like you fell after a game like that. That's difficult for the lads."

He added: "We're probably very inexperienced as a team. There's a lot of new players out there on the field over the last number of games. It's a process. Things will have to improve. We still have results that can save our season."
