Sligo manager Cathal Corey knows that there is a nervy few weeks coming up as they battle to avoid relegation.

Last weekend's defeat to Westmeath means that the Connacht side are now battling to avoid the drop with three games to go.

Sligo have just two points from their four outings to date, but they still lie third from the bottom as Wexford and Offaly are still seeking their first points of the campaign.

And Corey told the Sligo Champion that this weekend's game against Longford (if it goes ahead) is a crucial clash for the Yeats County.

"We're over the first half of the league and we need to get points on the board," said Corey. "Every game we go to is one we need to win."
