Croal rescues Leitrim

April 30, 2007
All-Ireland champions Roscommon had to settle for a share of the spoils with neighbours Leitrim in an exciting Connacht MFC first round clash at Hyde Park on Saturday, April 28. Roscommon....0-13 Leitrim.......2-7 A late point from corner forward Adrian Croal earned Leitrim a deserved draw after they were forced to play their last 20 minutes following the dismissal of midfielder Thomas Beirne on a second yellow card. The visitors' first goal came from Shane Murphy's 18th minute penalty, while Niall O'Connor grabbed their second with 10 minutes remaining. However, Roscommon looked to have won the day when man of the match Darren McDermott put them ahead with two minutes to go, only for Croal to equalize with the last kick of the game.
