Evans to take time

Roscommon manager John Evans has stated that he will take his time before making a decision on his future.

Evans wants time to digest their year in full, which came to a disappointing end at the hands of Fermanagh in the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers last weekend.

Ultimately, the decision for Evans to stay on will lie with the county board, but the Kerry native has plenty to ponder before he is willing to commit for another year.

"I'll stand back and have a look at it. I wouldn't agree to anything more than a year at the end of last season. I'll look at the whole package. But now isn't the time to be making those decisions," Evans told the Roscommon Herald.

"I'll look at my family and the distance, and the progress we've made. Listening to the players, they know they've made huge progress. They're delighted to be where they are. At the end of the day, it's a journey we're on but we're going to get hard knocks along that journey."
