Roscommon midfielder Ian Kilbride is adamant that they can come back strong from their Connacht SFC semi-final defeat.

Sligo produced one of the surprises of the year so far by defeating a highly fancied Roscommon side to advance to the provincial final next month.

For Roscommon, they must now try and regroup ahead of the qualifiers where they will face Cavan at Breffni Park on Saturday week.

And Kilbride is confident that they will be able to lift themselves ahead of the match as he stressed to the Roscommon Herald that the quality is there.

"If we had won, it would have gone perfect and we would've had a crack at the Connacht final," said Kilbride. "But we'll regroup again. Getting knocked down doesn't matter. It's what you do when you get back up.

"I think on reflection we'll sort out the things that went wrong and we'll come back stronger. If we don't come back stronger we shouldn't come back at all."
