Senan Kilbride hopes Roscommon can build on the momentum generated by the county's first ever FBD League success last Sunday.

John Evans' charges overcame Galway in Kiltoom on a scoreline of 4-8 to 1-12 and will be looking to repeat last year's Division 3 final success when they line up against Cavan on Sunday.

"Hopefully winning the FBD league will build a bit of momentum going into the National League, which is very important for us," the full-forward told The Irish Daily Mirror.

"We want to give Division two a rattle and to show up well. We're playing some of the best teams in the country and hopefully that will be good for us.

"It's going to test us hugely and we're just hoping that we can play well and survive in Division two. Hopefully that will start against Cavan."

The St Brigid's clubman agrees that the injection of young blood into the Rossies set-up augurs well for the years ahead.

"The boys learned a lot last year and there's serious talent coming through, like Ultan Harney came on Sunday and showed up well.

"Those boys are driving us on and pushing us all the way. They're bringing a lot of energy to it."
