Kilglass Gaels take to Sliabh Ban with the Celebs
May 17, 2012Nearly 30 team leaders from both inside and outside the club will put together teams of ten or more to walk around the beautiful surroundings of the peak overlooking strokestown and surrounding areas.
But also to add to the attraction there will be a host of well known sporting celebrities and personalities to add to the occasion. These celebrities when announced next week will no doubt add to the occasion and are sure to draw a crowd.
For people who are interested in the walk from outside the club the following is the plan for the day.
The walk is a 5km round trip walk taking in the sights of Strokestown and surrounding areas in the Roscommon region. As well as going around by the famous cross on top of the mountain.
It will start at 10am on the 10th June with registration starting at 9.30am.
It is a walk that will be by no means extremly physcially demanding on any age group as it is to be enjoyed.
You will get to mix and enjoy the craic along the way with our celebrities while you walk & talk.
As it is a fundraiser the cost of entry is €10 which will include the walk, refeshments after and entry into a draw for all walkers which will be held after the walk for cash prizes.
We will also have a Photographer there so you can get the chance to get your picture taken with the celebs after.
This walk is open to all age groups & we would welcome walking clubs or groups from outside the club and surrounding areas to join us on the day.
