Club Membership: Membership is now due. €40 for adults and €20 for students. An important reminder to players if they haven't paid membership they can't play.

Shane Layden: A large number of people from the club went to Athlone last Friday night to see Shane Layden and the Ireland U20 team, and they weren't disappointed. Shane scored a try and took home the man of the match award, as Ireland beat Wales 11-6. Well done to Shane and the team. They play France next Saturday away and their next home game is against Italy on the 24th Feb in Athlone.

Lotto: There was no winner of the lotto jackpot for €8600. €20 winners were; JP O' Dowd, Noreen Caldbeck, John McGuire, M Brady, Tommy Mannion. Next draw is in Glancy's on the 14th Feb with the senior team of Ollie Flanagan, Keith Butler, Dermot O'Dowd and John McGuire, in charge.

U-16 and Minor: We have been informed the Minor league commences on the last weekend of February, while the U-16 league commences the first weekend of March. Players will be contacted by their managers this week.

Scrap Metal: Just a reminder that the scrap metal collection is still on the go. The committee will collect any old scrap from homes/outhouses/fields etc. Contact Aidan Filan, John Heslin,Leo Marron, Paul Mulvey or any member of the committee for free collection.

Senior Scor: This year the county Scor committee urges the club to make an extra special effort within in the club to ensure our area is represented with at very least a Solo Singer and a Quiz Team. The qualifiying round takes place on Saturday Feb 25th in Ballyforan at 7.30pm. For further info on events see the club website or the county scor site. If anyone from the area would like to compete please get in contact with the committee.

Roscommon Supporters Club: Just a reminder about membership of Roscommon G.A.A. Supporters Club. Time to get behind the Rossies! To join, go the gaaroscommon.ie, or there is membership forms available in the club from James Deane. Adults €20 and Students €10. Members receive exclusive Text & Email updates and also Supporters club car sticker and Car freshner.

Shannon Gaels Ladies:

Presentation night: The Ladies Club will celebrate the outstanding achievements of the underage teams by holding a medal presentation night in the Bush Hotel on Friday 17th February.

Carrick School into Connacht Final: Carrick school ladies team are through to the Connacht Junior final where they will meet Dunmore from Galway. Carrick defeated Kiltimagh in the semi final on a score line of 3 - 7 to 1 - 10. The final takes places this Tuesday (7th Feb) in Pairc Sean, Carrick, at 12pm. There is 11 representatives from the club on this panel.

Fundamentals Coaching Course: Roscommon Ladies County Board are running a Fundamentals Coaching Course on Saturday 25th February 2012 in Kilbride Centre @ 10am. This course is an introductory coaching programme and also must be completed before coaches can access Level 1 Coaching or Keycoaching stages. Participants must be 16 or older. Duration 5-6 hours. CO-OPERATION TRANSFORMATION - Meeting Thursday 9th February @ 9pm in Croghan Community Centre. Shannon Gaels Ladies are setting up 'Co-operation Transformation' with a view to getting everybody fit and healthy this Spring. Starting 13th February and finishing Easter Saturday 7th April, each person will have a mentor to guide them through their fitness regime over the eight weeks. There will be organised events for everyone to partake in. You will not be required to disclose your weight at any stage only the weight you lose will be recorded throughout the competition. All statistics are confidential and we will have qualified experts to advise on Nutrition and Fitness. If you do not wish to take part in the programme you can still support the cause by guessing the overall weight loss of the group for a small fee. This is open to males & females of any age, size or fitness. So why not take part and come along on the 9th Feb @ 9pm to find out more and get involved! Biggest Loser Wins! Prizes for the most weight loss and person who guesses the overall weight loss. If you want to take part you must register on or before 13th February 2012.
