Minor Board AGM: There was a good attendance at the minor board AGM last Friday. Many of the achievements from the past year were noted in both the Chairperson and Secretary's reports. There were changes at the top level. Martina O'Dowd stood down as chairperson and Chris O Dowd stood down as secretary. Both had given great years service. Martina had been chairperson since 2009, while Chris was secretary since 2004. After nominations for both positions Chris was elected as Chairperson, while Tracy Duignan was elected as the new secretary. We wish both all the best in their new positions, and thank Martina for her time,effort and dedication the past few years.

Underage Managers: Team Managers at underage level were confirmed for the coming year; Minor: Sean Murtagh and Robert Gillan; U-16: James Deane and Conor Layden; U-14: Noel Feeney and John O Dowd; U-12: TBC; U-10 to U-6s: Training continues in complex as usual

Scrap Metal: Just a reminder that the scrap metal collection is still on the go. The committee will collect any old scrap from homes/outhouses/fields etc. Contact Aidan Filan, John Heslin,Leo Marron, Paul Mulvey or any member of the committee for free collection.

Senior Scor: This year the county Scor committee urges the club to make an extra special effort within in the club to ensure our area is represented with at very least a Solo Singer and a Quiz Team. The qualifiying round takes place on Saturday Feb 25th in Ballyforan at 7.30pm. For further info on events see the club website or the county scor site. If anyone from the area would like to compete please get in contact with the committee.

Ladies: Best of luck to the Carrick Community School girls team playing in the Connacht final against Kiltimagh on Tuesday 31st at 12pm in Ballinlough. Eleven of the school panel are members of Shannon Gaels Ladies club. The Ladies Club will celebrate the outstanding achievements of the underage teams by holding a medal presentation night in the Bush Hotel on Friday 17th February. The club will hold a meeting at 9pm on Thursday 2nd in Croghan.
