Paddy Finneran RIP.
Paddy Finneran, the Club's President and one of its founding members past away last week, having contributed immensely to the GAA in Roscommon, to his Parish Taughmaconnell, and in particular to the Club he so greatly helped to get on its feet. All of us that were privileged to have known this gentle man should not lament his passing but indeed commend and laud his life well spent " Ar Dheis De go raibh anam dilis".
Football Board AGMs
A very well attended Annual General Meetings of Pearses Football Boards took place last Saturday evening. Among the many items included in the Secretaries report on 2011 were includedthe First Teams winning of the intermediate Championship under manager Seamus Clogher, and the Junior Bs success in claiming a South Title under Kevin Galvin, Some notable achievements by Club Footballers included Niall Daly who won a Senior Football medal in the Cork Championship. An Intermediate medal in Roscommon as well as a Sigerson Cup medal. Michael Dignan also claimed success as Roscommon intermediate player of the year.
The following position were returned for 2012 at the meeting.
Senior Board: Chairman Peadar Glennon, Vice Chairman Niall Murray, Secretary Andrew Naughten, Asst Secretary Michael Feehily, Senior Manager John Donoghue, Junior A (held over) Junior B Kevin Galvin, Under 21 Pat Daly.
Minor Board: Chairman Joe Phelan, Vice Chairman Laurence Kelly, Secretary Kystle Donnellan, Assistant Secretary Aaron Clogher, Minor Manager (Held Over),Under16 Joe Phelan & Eddie McEvilly, Under 14 Michael Galvin, Dave Kenny, Ciaran McGreal, Aiden Fallon, Under 12 Tom Carey, Brendan Powell.
