Roscommon hurlers get their competitive season up and running this weekend as they take on GMIT in the first round of the Kehoe Cup.

The sides meet in Athlone on Saturday afternoon (throw in at 2pm) and Seamus Qualter will be looking for a good performance from his players.

The hurlers have been working hard in recent weeks, but they did suffer a heavy defeat to a second string Westmeath side a fortnight ago and Qualter will be looking for an improvement this weekend.

Meanwhile, the senior footballers continue their FBD Connacht League campaign with an interesting clash against Mayo at Ballinlough on Sunday. Tweet
