Padraig Pearses Club notes

August 30, 2010
Senior Football.
The Senior footballers failed to over come the challenge of Western Gaels in Hyde Park on Sunday last. This leaves them with the stark reality that they must Win the "Relegation Final" to avoid the drop to intermediate next year. See match report for details. The Seniors are down to play Castlerea St Kevins in the final round of the League next Saturday evening at 5.30 p.m. in Castlerea a win or draw in this game should see Pearses remain in Senior league next year, a loss would leave us depending on results in other games.

Under 12 Football Boys
The Pearses under 12B footballers received a walk over in their fixture when St Aidens B failed to field last Monday and The first team played St Bridgets away on Thursday Night the game was played in a great spirit by both teams and apart from the usual good play from the the big lads up the middle the game was notable for the contribution of a couple of men of lesser stature, namely Luke Powell at corner back and Oisin Kelly in the Forward line, While Reilly, Daly and Glynn also stood out.The Pearses Team pulled away towards the End to record a notable victory but we may expect to meet this good Bridgets squad later in the Championship. The Under 12 As are due to play Clann in Johnstown on Monday evening and Ros Gaels on Thursday at home.

Under 12 Hurling
The under12 hurlers recorded a reatively easy victory over a very plucky Tulsk selection last Wedneday evening in Tulsk, However they will have to come up a gear if they hope to over come arch rivals Four Roads next Saturday Sept 4th in Hyde park at 1.15 p.m. in the county semi-final.
