Under 14 Football Boys
Our Under 14 Boys were defeated on Friday August 13th in the league Final against St Brigids , We started badly as within 5 minutes Pearses were down by 8 points after conceding 2 early goals. Our back line recovered after this initial shock and for the rest of the half played with real determination , Pearses got off the mark with a point from Sean Dunne who finished the half with 4 points , However Pearses were losing by 11 points at half time 0.04 to 3.06. St Brigids started the second half as they had finished the first with a point however Pearses were not going to start slowly like the first half and points from Sean Dunne and Padraig Downey started the fight back. With about 12 minutes left Donnacha Reilly found Sean Dunne who grabbed a ball out of the air turned and buried it to the back of the net but alas it was not to be and St Brigids won by 4 points , However Pearses Football club can be very proud of the way all of theses young men who never gave up and have a great future ahead of them. We had good performances from Tony McEvilly , Conor Payne , Ian Goldrick , Tom Butler , and Adam Finnerty and in particular Sean Dunne who rowed back the years with his dead ball free kicks and ended up as Unofficial Man of the Match with a tally of 1.10
