SFC down to last eight

August 19, 2010
The quarterfinals of the Roscommon senior football championship are down for decision this weekend as eight teams remain in the hunt for the Fahey Cup.

Johnstown is the venue for the meeting between local rivals St Brigid's and Clann na nGael as county star Donie Shine bids to kick Brigid's out of the championship.

Defending champions Castlerea St Kevin's will be favourites against Kilmore and this one may not all go the way of the champions, as Kilmore are a dogged team.

Elphin will fancy their chances against a St Croan's side that will be delighted to have reached the quarterfinals, but their run may be about to come to an end.

St Faithleach's will be hoping to remain on course for another county final appearance when they take on Roscommon Gaels in what could well be the closest match of the weekend.
