All-Ireland MHC 'B': Kildare power into final
August 16, 2010
Kildare will face Westmeath in the ESB All-Ireland MHC 'B' final after Conor Kenny inspired them to an impressive victory over Roscommon at O'Connor Park, Tullamore on Saturday.
Kildare 0-26
Roscommon 1-9
The half forward scored a whopping 0-14 to add to the 0-10 he bagged against holders Kerry in the quarter-final as the Lilywhites set up a repeat of the 2008 decider. The teams were level on 0-3 apiece after 18 minutes, but despite hitting eight first half wides, Kildare finished the first half strongly to take a 0-8 to 0-4 lead into the interval.
Roscommon made a great start to the second half when Liam Kilcline scored the only goal to bring them back into it, but they never recovered from the dismissal of corner back Eoin Kelly a short time later as Kildare ran out easy winners in the end.
