February 15, 2010
All roads lead to the Athlone this Saturday for the All-Ireland Final of Scór na nÓg. Competitors and supporters from the four provinces will converge on the Count John McCormack Hall in Athlone I.T. with events getting under way at 3pm.
Roscommon will be represented in the Recitation competition by Grace Dooley of Padraig Pearses and in the Question Time competition by Ballinameen's Laura McDermott, Finbar McDermott and Gerard McDermottroe. The club are no strangers to the All-Ireland stage having reached the final in 2007 and 2009. Roscommon clubs have a great record in this competition with Kilglass Gaels winning the title in 2004, 05 06 & 08 and Elphin winning the title in 1985. In the Recitation competition Grace Dooley will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of St. Dominics man James Murray who won the title last year.
Roscommon GAA are asking all supporters to keep the "primrose and blue" flying throughout the day and to also cheer on the other Connacht representatives when they are competing. People who cannot attend can view live text updates throughout the day on www.twitter.com/gaaroscommon
