Wynne wants stability

November 27, 2008
Roscommon minor manager Gary Wynne has called on the Connacht Council to finally settle on a format for the provincial campaign, which has yet again being changed for 2009. Unlike last year, when there was a round robin system used in the Connacht campaign, next year's format will see it go back to a straight knockout championship. "People have different views on the structures that were put in place but the one thing I would like to see is that they'd settle on some sort of format," said Wynne. "There was a different format in 2006, a different one in 2007, a different one in 2008 and now a different one in '09. When you're trying to work with schools, clubs and lads in college, you don't want to be going back and changing things you put in place last year to make sure things would work for you. "If they settle on a format then you put in place a template and you work towards it. As a result, everybody knows what's happening going forward. Chopping and changing leaves it a bit messy."
