Mayo champions Killala were crowned Connacht club junior football champions following a comfortable victory over Roscommon's Kilglass Gaels at Dr Hyde Park. Killala....1-10 Kilglass Gaels..0-3 The North Mayo men laid the foundations for their success in the opening half when they opened up a nine-point lead. With the wind behind them, they posted early points through Brendan Garvin, Alex Quinn and Marcus Hannick before Kilglass responded through Richard Dooner. But Killala remained on top and effectively ended the game as a contest 10 minutes before the break when James Ruddy scored the only goal. Former Roscommon player Dermot Washington pulled back two points for Kilglass on the resumption, but they never looked like getting back into it and three further points from Marcus Hannick wrapped up the win for Killala.
