Kilmore GAA Club Notes

The football came to an end for 2008 at the weekend in disappointing fashion. The club are disappointed at the treatment of the under 21 team and in the organising of the under 21 competition in general. The club thanks the players who togged out on Saturday and apologise for their be no game. The club have a busy week ahead off the field. On Saturday next our minor club hold their main fundraiser of 2008 with the sponsored walk. All members taking part in the walk are asked to assemble at the club rooms at the pitch at 11.45am sharp on Saturday morning and bring sponsorship cards and money. Anyone who has not received a sponsorship card and wishes to take part please contact Brian Carroll, Chris Gannon or Pauric Doyle before Wednesday night. The club will require about 6 adult volunteers for to run the walk successfully and anyone who can help please contact Brian Carroll on 087-2420896 before Thursday night. Saturday night and all roads lead to Mullingar dog track for the final major fundraiser of the year for the club. Tickets are ?50 and are available from all members of the executive. Included in the price of the ticket is transport to and from the track, free admission, race card, ?4 free bet and a chance to win ?1,000. Anyone purchasing a ticket is asked to inform the seller if the require transport or not. Anyone not able to attend is also encouraged to purchase a ticket as you will still have a chance to win the ?1,000 as well as supporting the club. First race in Mullingar is at 8pm. Buses will leave from the community centre, Dangan at 6.15pm sharp. The club wishes all the children of the parish the best of luck in Scor Na Nog at the weekend. The club wishes to congratulate Jim Gilchrest who got married to Clairin Molloy recently. Hopefully it won't be too long till we see a few "little Jim's" togging out for Kilmore! The club extends its sympathy to the Caulfield family on their recent bereavement.
