Dr Hyde Park row rumbles on
November 20, 2008
The row over the ownership of Dr Hyde Park remains unresolved as all parties concerned are due to sit down and discuss the matter over the coming days.
The Roscommon County Board have had their plans to redevelop the ground halted by the Roscommon Gaels club and the Hyde Park Committee during which time Croke Park will not allocate a grant for the work to be carried out.
Both Roscommon Gaels and the Hyde Park Committee want recognition for the maintenance work that they have carried out at the venue, while the local club also feels that it will have no grounds if redevelopment work is carried out.
At present the famous old venue is in limbo as without a proper drainage system, it has lost out on hosting a number of games due to bad weather and this is costing the county board thousands of euros.
All parties concerned are due to sit down this will with the legal representation present to discuss the matter and hopefully find a solution agreeable to all.
