U16 Football

The 4th round of the league saw Roscommon Gaels make 6 changes to the starting team from round 1 but the strength in depth is remarkable and this was a fine performance by our ladies. Roscommon Gaels recorded a good 28 point win over a dogged Padraig Pearses in Woodmount on Sunday evening. Padraig Pearses started strong, but Roscommon Gaels slowly took a hold on the game, and pulled clear.  Final Score Roscommon Gaels 4-18 Padraig Pearses 0-2.  All girls got game time.

The ladies face neighbours Oran on Sunday in our final round of the league. We are now on top of the table with Oran having a game in hand.

Junior Ladies Football

Our Junior ladies are not back out again until April 14th when we take on Kilbride in Kilbride in the final round of the league.

U14 County Roscommon LGFA

Well done to the Roscommon U14 Football Ladies and to our Roscommon Gaels girls Ava Mulry, Jenny Morriss, Shauna Walsh, Zara Fallon and management Deckie and Michelle Hughes Walsh who are through to a Connacht B final all the best in the final on the 13th of April where they face Sligo.

U14 Div 1 Football

Roscommon Gaels 2-12              St Dominics 3-09

What a game of football on a beauitful Sunday morning in Tremane.  This game had everything. Skill, honesty & our lads gave everything.  The 1st half was probably the best football we have played.  Everything we done worked a treat. Kick passes, scores, overlappying with precision. John McGuinness got our goal but Eoghan Carty held his own at centre back & was outstanding in this first period.  In fact everyone played really well

But the 2nd half we knew St Dominics would come back and they did as good teams do.  Andrew Oates made vital saves and his kick outs were spot on.  Ciaran, Jack and Rory drove the team on.  they got a late goal but Rory got a late point to level it.  It would have been cruel to have lost this but we will meet again in the later stages i'm sure of it.  Well done lads.
