Bernard Flynn believes Central Council delegates made a big mistake by rejecting Roscommon's 'blank canvas' motion on Saturday.

Despite having the backing on the CPA, the motion - which called for "a select committee to conduct an overall review of the National Games Programme" - received just four votes.

"For me, it was the biggest single thing that Central Council had to deal with," former Meath Flynn star told the Irish Daily Mirror.

"It's a shock that it was rejected to be honest. It says an awful lot about Croke Park because if they had an interest in making real change, they had to take a serious look at the fixture list and this motion would have done that.

"We're going nowhere without it. It's basically Croke Park saying, 'Keep out of our tent and don't be annoying us'.
