Joe Dooley unleashes a shot
Former Offaly star Joe Dooley has been appointed manager of the Tullamore senior hurling team. Dooley, whose son Shane is a key member of the Tullamore team, replaces St. Rynagh's clubman Ciaran Egan who, along with his selectors Pat Conlon and Jim Larkin, resigned earlier this month because of the poor attendances at training. Dooley, who could yet feature for his native Seir Kieran in this year's senior hurling championship, will be assisted by selectors Sean Aherne and Christy Geoghegan. The three-time All-Ireland winner previously managed the Toomevara senior team in Tipperary. Meanwhile, Clara are reeling from the loss of county footballer Mark Daly, who has transferred to Dublin club Lucan Sarsfields. Daly has been living in the Capital for the past number of years where he is based as a garda.
