St Brigids G AA lost one of its great supporters with the recent passing of Joe Galvin , as well as been a great supporter, Joe in his younger days was a Selector on many teams and held positions on club committee over the years. Joe was one of those great characters who when you meet him you always left in great mood , he always had a smile and had the knack of no matter what your troubles had the ability of cheering you up. One of our abiding memories of Joe was his renditions of the Boston Burglar, and many of the great stories he entertained us with over the years.
St Brigids and the Croghan area will miss his company and big smile. Whether out on his daily walks or collecting his grandchildren to and from school, He was known to everyone, Joe was a family man who idolised his family and a good neighbour to all. This was very evident in the very large crowd from all over the Country who attended at his wake and funeral and to showed their respect.Joe truly was one of life's Gentle men and a one off character .
Our deepest sympathy to his wife Brida, sons Michael , Patrick, Christopher, daughters Margaret, Siobhan and Patricia, Brother Michael, cousins Phil & Johny and his extended Family,Friends Neighbours.
