Results

Intermediate Hurling Championship

Clodiagh Gaels 1-15 Kilcormac/ Killoughey 0-12

The Gaels survived a few scares to beat K/K and continue their winning run in the championship. The Gaels started the brighter with seven unanswered points against the wind from Liam Langton, Mark Egan, Shane Dolan and Colm Gleeson. K/K battled back with six unanswered points to go in a point down at the break. After the interval Liam Langton scored two points to put some comfort on the sideline. K/K never gave in and fought back to within two points and the Gaels took control from there and two points from Jason Hassett, a point each from Liam Langton and Shane Dolan put us further ahead and with time just up Jason Hassett put the ball to the net after it landed in the square.

Junior A Hurling Championship

Clodiagh Gaels 2-15 Kinnitty 1-16

We knew travelling up to Kinnitty that it was a win or nothing and that's how it prevailed. We never got going in the first half and we went in four points down at half time. The second half was when the game came to life. For the first ten minutes of the half Kinnitty owned the ball and went nine points ahead only for the Gaels to fight back and steal victory. It all started when a long range shot from Tom Dunne dropped short and landed in the net. The lead was back to six and the next ball that came in fell to Jimmy Keenaghan on the edge of the square and he drilled home to leave the deficit at three points. Points through Kevin Kinahan(2), Peter Berry, Ned Casey and Thomas Brady sealed the victory and put us into a semi final.
