Dan Currams will captain the Offaly senior hurlers in 2015.

Entering his seventh year with the Faithful County, Currams captained Kilcormac/Killoughey to their third county SHC title in-a-row in 2014.

"In fairness to Kilcormac/Killoughey and their achievements in the last few years, it merits recognition," manager Brian Whelahan outlined to The Irish Independent.

"Dan was a major part of that and is a major part of Offaly's plans as well. He is a very committed fella and will let his hurling do the talking."

Currams takes over the captaincy from Joe Bergin who is currently sidelined with injury.

"Joe is just back with us. He had a programme to do before Christmas and he is easing his way back into training with us.

"We have to take it steady with him. He is going back to be assessed shortly and Joe will be a big option for us in a few weeks' time."
